The best way to explain, is to share my story.
Three and a half years ago I was a CrossFit Masters Athlete, doing the qualification process to try and get to the CrossFit Games. Another Games athlete, Amanda Allen, introduced me to exogenous ketones. I didn’t really know what they were or what they did. As an athlete you have everyone hitting you up to try the next product and I would always say “No” because I believed in whole, real food and being natural. That being said I was using creatine, fish oil, magnesium, BCCA’s all these other supplements … I did trust Amanda enough to do a 10-day trial – however I was super sceptical and didn’t really expect much. I didn’t pay much attention to how I was feeling the first week, I didn’t have a lightbulb moment like I do see some people experience. I got to the weekend and had had the busiest, pretty stressful week I had encountered that year and was surprised to realise I had done all my training, and recovered well, hadn’t lost the plot at the girls, and hadn’t napped. This was MASSIVE. I had been a serial napper for 20 years, since the girls were babies. I was blaming my napping on my training, however I started drinking the ketones and my energy became awesome and I no longer needed to nap. This was HUGE.
The following week I really started seeing a difference in my training and performance. In my recovery, especially from squatting and things that would usually wreck me. I had never used a product like this before that had this kind of reaction. I was elated.
Gary my husband, who was super sceptical too got annoyed at my beating him in the wods and could see the difference in how I was functioning. He caved in and decided to try too. I will always remember him saying “Chanel I did not know I had brain fog until it went away” he would always get to training after work and feel shattered. Now he had this energy and also noticed how he felt in the workouts and his recovery.
