I grew up in Auckland, New Zealand. When I was 20, I ventured with my boyfriend at the time (now my husband) to Brisbane, Australia to follow the sun. We stayed and made it home, and now have 3 daughters together.
I have always loved sports, and decided to take up CrossFit when I was 40, not realising this would take me back down the path of being an athlete.
I have always loved sports, and decided to take up CrossFit when I was 40, not realising this would take me back down the path of being an athlete. I became a CrossFit Masters athlete, competing and achieving, deciding to try and qualify for the CrossFit Games. It was when I was in this qualification process that a brand new technology was introduced to me (by another Games athlete) At the time I was looking for fitter, faster, stronger … and I did achieve all of those things, I just neglected the fact I was a busy mum, who was not operating very well at all.
My energy was terrible, I was napping everyday – waking up tired. I honestly felt like I had been tired for 20 years. I started drinking ketones and I stopped napping … I was amazed. I had been blaming my training for the napping as I was working with a nutritionist and eating well, seems this new fuel source changed my energy. My mood improved, I was happier, I could focus and get more work done, I started sleeping really well and my digestion also improved. I could not believe it.
My family also started drinking ketones, our middle daughter had some challenges with focus at school and concentration, as well as some other health issues. I could not put her on a keto diet at this time – she was 16 and not very compliant … the ketones were an amazing tool to help her finish and pass school and now choose the career of her choice. Her health concerns are no longer an issue. We feel like we have seen a transformation in front of our eyes. This made me want to know more … this is when I decided to study Ketosis.
I studied with Dr Cliff Harvey who has been an expert in Ketosis for many years. I now practise as at Keto Coach helping others with their health and wellness goals. I love helping people become a better version of themselves, as I know how amazing I feel after learning about this lifestyle.I share my food, recipes, workout and what I find works for me.
